Fine Art Beauty Series | Gina

Part four of our fine art beauty series: Model, Gina with artists Rebecca + Analisa

Our fourth and final piece to wrap up this series included one of our favorite looks on curly hair, florals + all of the greek goddess vibes. This project was so fun for us to put together - it was a wonderful chance to work alongside the talented girls on our team (+ kick-ass vendors) and get the creative juices flowing before our busy wedding season approaches.

We're so excited to re-create these beautiful styles for all of our brides this year!

Rebecca | Hair: I knew as soon as I saw her hair I wanted to showcase Gina’s texture. I love working with naturally curly hair,  curls are gorgeous and in the right hands, can be refined into an organic masterpiece. I took advantage of Gina's length and designed a textured braid that flowed with the 'ancient greek' vibe we were channeling. The florals fell right into place with the flow of her hair, and felt very effortless.

Analisa | Makeup: I love creating a look that feels almost nude but done up at the same time; accentuating features that draw you in and leave you feeling like the best elevated version of yourself – leaving the skin feeling clean and looking radiant is key. With Gina I really wanted to focus on the way her naturally sculpted brows pull you in to her eyes. Going for a soft & dreamy eye, I played with a subtle lifted liner and extra dimension for her outer lashes. I also could not help but take inspiration from the beautifully set studio & floral installations full of warm and earthy tones. To play off those tones I worked with a monochromatic rose toned pallet for her lips & cheeks, and then used the same concept to highlight her skin & eyes with light layers of bronze - keeping her look minimal, but fresh.

Fine Art Beauty Series | Patti

Part three of our fine art beauty series: Model, Patti with artists Lindsay + Rebecca

We say it time and time again, but we truly believe that one of the best parts about this industry is all of the amazing women we get to meet along the way. For this piece of our series we were excited to include a favorite Connecticut vendor and our past bride, Patti Murphy. She is a talented designer, curator + owner of one of the cutest shops, Salt Mystic - It's filled with beautiful art, hand crafted jewelry, candles, pottery - you name it. If you happen to find yourself down by the shore, you're going to want to put this stop on your list!

Lindsay | Hair: My approach to hair is simplistic; airy and romantic. Think pastels, moody greens and soft waves. Love has and always will be the main source of inspiration for me.

Rebecca | Makeup: This was the most beautiful photo shoot that I have been a part of. The bright sunshine that filled the room while we were working was so soothing - spring was in the air and you would have never guessed there was a snowstorm the night before. I was inspired by nature for this look and wanted to create soft, well blended washes of rose and peach shades; colors that are transparent, almost like watercolor. I focused on creating luminous skin by layering minimal makeup over customized skin preparation and adding a touch of highlight to the inner corner of the eyes for a brighter look.

Artists inspiration for Meghan's look:

Lindsay | Hair: My approach to hair is simplistic; airy and romantic. Think pastels, moody greens and soft waves. Love has and always will be the main source of inspiration for me.

Evie | Makeup: Inspired by my model's natural beauty I decided to blend soft, warm peach + beige shadows that brought out her mesmerizing blue eyes and complimented her porcelain skin. To elevate + balance out the look I used deep, rich and soft carmine - a custom blended lip color.

Fine Art Beauty Series | Michelle

Part one of our fine art beauty series:  Model, Michelle with artists Brittany + Jessica.

This shoot was initially planned to highlight our artist's talents for use in portfolios and cross-platform content. We were set on an on-brand, cohesive vibe that detailed our love of fresh, flawless skin and soft, romantic styles. It turned out to be 1000 times more beautiful than we could ever imagine. The vendors that came together to capture our vision absolutely nailed it. Hats off to Melanie Ruth Photography for driving this shoot all day long without even batting an eye, Jakkelyn Iris Flowers for building an insanely beautiful floral installation that made for a perfect backdrop, Karri Lee Designs for providing her perfectly light filled studio for us to create in and for all of the models for allowing us to play with their hair and makeup and photograph them all day. We don't often find ourselves all in one room, it was especially fun just getting together and collaborating in the spirit of what we love.

Artist's Inspiration for Michelle's Look:

Brittany | Hair: A hair style is a work of art, and I always approach it that way. My aim is to create a style that flows beautifully whilst also enhancing the clients color + texture. Whenever possible, I love incorporating organic elements such as greenery or florals. Even a small amount seems to add a 'WOW' factor. I felt a low, soft style would emphasize Michelle's blonde locks. I love working with all hair types and colors, but there is something about blonde highlights that add depth and dimension to an updo. We added soft face framing pieces for a touch of romance to finish off her look.

Jessica | Makeup: My initial inspiration sparked from a look that Sarah Tanno created on her muse, Lady Gaga. Light shadow with a smoked out wing, flawless complexion and a natural lip color. My main goal with any makeup application is to use the least amount of product possible to create a flawless, luminous finish. I'm always fighting an internal struggle to conform with "Instagram Glam" which among other things, calls for full coverage, typically matte foundation that reads 'flawless' on screen. On screen being the key word. While its important for a makeup look to translate well in photography, to me - being in the bridal business, its more important for a client's makeup to look perfect in person. To achieve this with Michelle I used a combination of liquid foundation topped with a light layer of airbrush to perfect the skin. Makeup notes are provided below.
